The residences association of the Central Igualdad in Mayagüez ,P. R.,( yes, from Mayagüez, because since 1960 everything pass the river belongs to Mayagüez) in conjunction with projects M and M and a group of international artists, wish to make an activity that symbolizes the union and equality between the towns. So they organized an activity with all the chimney in Puerto Rico. But when they saw the chimney of our central they decide it was perfect for there purpose, because it's name its precisely what they were looking for; "Igualdad"( Equality)

It's going to be a chat in the central club of "La Igualdad" were it's expected to be present the ex residents and ex employee of the central ,to share there memories of our Central.

There's going to be a celebration with bingo, an exhibition of old cars , music, foods and, at three o clock will be the end of the activity.

And the famous wisle of the central, that announced the end of working day, that it has a peculiar sound, its hoping to be sounded this Friday.

They kept on the chimney in the central, sense Sunday 30 of may until Sunday 6 of June and illuminate it at night. And from distance people could enjoy the chimney and it look beautiful.

And the comity of the central residents, preside by miss. Rosa Cardel (787) 458-4871 its in the task of founding photos with the intention of creating a museum in the central area. For that cause she ask as favor of those who posses photos and wish to donate or send copies, Communicate with Miss. Cardel
